ANDREWS COUNTY - New weather technology is making its debut at the Andrews County Airport.
The airport recently installed an automated weather observing system.
The new technology will help pilots that are flying in determine weather conditions before they get there.
Before, pilots had to rely on weather updates from neighboring airports like Midland or Seminole which didn't prove to be very accurate.
The national weather service will be providing up-to-date weather information for them.
The system cost more than $100,000 but the majority of the cost was covered by a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.
