MIDLAND - High school students in Midland are learning exactly where donations go into the community.

The United Way of Midland is teaching the students how donations are invested into programs in the community.

Students from Midland High and Midland Lee spent the day deciding where to donate $12,000 they raised.

"It's very important to United Way of Midland to get the youth involved. They do such a great job at raising money and we think it's even more important for them to see where that money goes and to see the impact they have on the community," Allison King, Assistant Director for the United Way of Midland, said.

The money was raised during last year's United Way Youth Campaign.
