LEA COUNTY, N.M. - Falling asleep at the wheel may have cost a man his life.
New Mexico State Police tell NewsWest 9, 24-year-old Joel Lopez was on Highway 80, 15 miles west of Hobbs.
They think he fell asleep and drifted into the center median.
Lopez swerved into the right lane then back to the left and that caused the truck to roll.
He, along with three others in the truck, were all thrown out.
Lopez died at the hospital.
His three passengers survived but there's no word on their conditions.
