Fort Stockton Police Warning Residents About New Scam

FORT STOCKTON - The Fort Stockton Police Department wants residents to be on the lookout for a suspect accused of scamming people out of money.

The department received reports about a man who had been in Sanderson.

He promised several residents there to do construction jobs but police say he took off with their money without doing any work.

The man is also accused of stealing several items while in Sanderson; one of those is possibly a beige utility trailer.

Thanks to a tip, police think the man now might be in Fort Stockton.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 30 and 35 years old.

He might go by the name "Freddy."

Police are warning residents to be careful of being scammed.
