BIG SPRING - Big Spring ISD's plans for an Early College High School program with Howard College are on hold.
According to Assistant Superintendent Danny Ferrel, the district received their application from the Texas Education Agency late.
The application has been shelved for this year.
That was the decision at Thursday night's school board meeting.
On top of that, the program would be a five year commitment and the district wanted to take their time with the application.
Ferrel says the district will look for private donors to help fund the program.
They're expecting to submit a full application next year.
