MIDLAND - Trash in the Basin has been the talk of the town but there is a problem with people not stepping up to do anything about it.
Keep Midland Beautiful is still looking for people to volunteer to help with the Great American Cleanup this weekend.
Keep Midland Beautiful has been aiming for at least 5,000 people to help clean up the community.
As it stands, a little less than 2,000 people have come forward.
Executive Director Doreen Womack believes that the shortage of volunteers may be due to the booming economy and people being busier than ever but she still hopes people will find the time to get out and clean this weekend.
