MIDLAND - The City of Midland will be fronting the money to help bring a new water source into town.

The City of Midland has already signed an agreement with the Midland County Freshwater District to build and maintain a pipeline to pump water into town.

Unfortunately, the district doesn't have the money to get the project going.

On Tuesday, the city approved an amendment that would provide financial backing.

This will allow the district to apply for loans to fund the project.

The pipeline will bring in water from the T-Bar Ranch in Winkler and Loving County.

Officials say it should supply the city with water for the next 30 to 50 years.
