MIDLAND - A new tax break could be in the works for senior citizens in Midland.

On Monday morning, Commissioners debated a plan that could bring about $50,000 in savings on your property taxes.

If the state agrees, it would combine an across the board $10,000 homestead exemption to a $40,000 break for senior citizens.

Depending on what the state says residents 65 years or older could get the massive break.

Final word should be passed down by Tuesday.
