CARLSBAD, N.M. - A murder suicide attempt in Carlsbad leaves one woman dead and the gunman in critical condition.

Police say early Wednesday morning at Denny's, the shooter went to pay his tab with his waitress.

That's when he pulled a gun and shot 34-year-old Rachel Rodriguez.
