ODESSA - A program to help homeless families get back on their feet is no longer in danger of losing thousands of dollars.
At least, not for now.
Last year, Odessa Links was approved to receive $735,000.
The money would be used to put 20 families in homes.
But the housing crunch caused a problem.
The organization was suddenly at risk of losing all of that grant money if those families weren't in a home by last month.
The Housing and Urban Development Department was notified about the housing shortage in our area and gave Odessa Links an extension.
Even with the housing shortage, they have been able to house seven families in Odessa.
