LOVINGTON, N.M. - Students in Lovington saw a little excitement on Wednesday.

We're told 26-year-old Enrique Quiroga was fleeing from the cops at around 1:30 p.m.

He was wanted for a probation violation and several other warrants.

It started out as a car chase but Quiroga tried his luck on foot in a neighborhood just east of a Lovington elementary school and high school.

Lovington police placed both schools on lockdown.

They set up a perimeter and with the help of a K-9, Quiroga was found in someone's backyard.

No one was hurt in the chase.

More charges are pending for Quiroga on top of the ones he already had.
