ANDREWS COUNTY - It's official. Low level radioactive waste from 38 states will be sent to Andrews County.

The state gave final approval on Friday.

The waste will be buried at the Waste Control Specialists Site.

The waste could start moving into Andrews County within the next month.

Environmentalists say trucking the waste on state highways is dangerous and fear the burial site could lead to underground water contamination.

Waste Control Specialists insists the site in Andrews County is safe and that accidents moving the low-level radioactive waste are infrequent.
