Perimeter Cleared After Person Was Seen With a Rifle in Midland

MIDLAND - Police have cleared the scene around St. Marks Methodist Church in Midland after someone was seen with a gun.

Authorities tell NewsWest 9, a Church youth group was playing paintball. What was thought to be an assault rifle is in fact a paintball gun.

No malicious intent was present.

A concerned citizen thought the paintball gun was a gun and called police.

No arrests were made.

The situation was treated as a high priority situation, as per Police Protocol.
