BIG SPRING - Ways to cut back on water are on the agenda for the upcoming city council meeting in Big Spring.

We've gotten a lot of snow and some rain in the last few months but it hasn't done much for our lake levels.

Members will talk about the latest cutback in water deliveries from the Colorado River Municipal Water District and how the city can conserve.

Although the new delivery numbers aren't expected to force the city into the next level of their drought stage plan, new water restrictions could be announced soon.

Also on the agenda is a plastic bag ban.

Big Spring is the latest West Texas city to consider doing away with plastic bags around town.

The item is only up for discussion and no action will be taken on the issue.

Many people say the bags are a huge problem for trash and are an eyesore for the city.

Fort Stockton has already banned plastic bags.

Pecos and Odessa have also considered a bag ordinance in their cities.
