MIDLAND - Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst is making his rounds in Midland and Odessa.

His first stop was at the NewsWest 9 Studios on his way to the Odessa Chamber of Commerce.

Dewhurst was in town to meet with business leaders at the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Office on Wednesday to discuss the future of business and his hopes for the future in his bid for a U.S. Senate seat.

Dewhurst tells NewsWest 9 that Washington is broken and they need people in office who will help reel in the debt and help the U.S. prosper again.

"I want to get our economy jump started, I want that $2 trillion to get employed, create millions of new jobs. But none of this happens, unless we have stable policies. Business craves stability and when you're constantly changing the rules in the game midstream, it stops," Dewhurst said.

Dewhurst will also appear at a grassroots support effort on Wednesday evening.
