PRESIDIO - Presidio will no longer have a jail that's not being used.

Presidio County Judge Paul Hunt tells us they have passed their state inspection and will be getting an inspection by the U.S. Marshal's Service and Bureau of Prisons to be certified to house federal inmates.

The jail was shut down back in 2009 due to lack of funding and the jail needing renovations.

Prisoners can be housed at the prison starting today.
