MIDLAND - A Midland inmate finds himself in even more trouble after jailers find a weapon in his cell.
33-year-old Robert Ryan is charged with turning a metal broom handle into a makeshift weapon.
Ryan was removed from his cell after making statements he was going to kill someone to the staff.
Guards searched his cell and found the broom handle, along with a letter, threatening guards.
He remains in 23 hour solitary confinement.
Ryan was already facing up to 99 years for a carjacking with a ski mask and plastic gun.
He now faces an additional 10 years if convicted for his second crime.
