HOWARD COUNTY - It's official. The burn ban has been lifted after more than a year.
On Tuesday morning, County Commissioners and the judge made the call.
Volunteer Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan actually agreed with it.
He says now is the time to burn off any unwanted brush that has accumulated.
That way it won't be fuel for wildfires down the road.
The county can decide to put it back in place if people don't take safety precautions.
They'll be watching out for that and handing out tickets to those who aren't burning responsibly.
Midland County recently lifted its burn ban as well.
