FORT STOCKTON - The Fort Stockton Police Department have arrested a suspect who led them on a high speed chase on Saturday.

Officials tried to pull over a beige Lincoln LS for speeding.

Police say the vehicle didn't stop and the chase was on.

The suspect led police through several city streets and even through a motel parking lot.

The vehicle later came to a stop at the top of a hill just west of Arnett Street.

The suspect then fled on foot and were unable to locate him.

However, Officers were able to follow up with a witness that observed the suspect flee from the car. The witness identified Aaron Mata as the suspect.

A warrant was then obtained and Mata was arrested on Sunday afternoon.

Mata has been transported to the Pecos County Jail and faces charges of evading.

No word yet on bond.
