Midland Man Arrested After Crashing His Vehicle Into Two Poles

MIDLAND - A Midland man is arrested and charged after a night of drinking and driving.

63-year-old Santiago Bruno was arrested on several charges after he hit a pole with his black Cadillac Deville then wrapped it around a second pole on Monday afternoon.

Police say Bruno lost control of the vehicle while traveling west on Wall Street at speeds of over 80 miles per hour.

He was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

It was then that Bruno admitted to using cocaine, smoking marijuana and drinking several beers before getting behind the wheel.

Officers later found Xanax in his wallet.

While being transported, Bruno threatened to assault one of the officers.

Bruno's bond is set at $36,000 dollars.

Bruno has been charged with retaliation against a peace officer, driving while intoxicated and possession of a dangerous drug.

If convicted, Bruno could face up to 10 years in prison.
