PECOS COUNTY - Pecos County Commissioners were awarded a grant to create a new water well.
It's all part of the county's plan to clean up their drinking water.
Back in November, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality found a slight increase of radon and uranium in a local well.
On Monday, customers were told about the problem.
The county has been working on replacing the well for quite some time because of its age.
The new well be located 500 feet from the current water source.
