Driver Ticketed After Causing Crash That Knocked Out Power in Midland

MIDLAND COUNTY - New information has been released in connection with a car crash that knocked out power to hundreds of homes in Midland on Monday night.

The accident happened at Midkiff and Haynes near the Midland Park Mall.

Police say a silver Pontiac pulled out of a parking lot and clipped a Nissan.

That caused the driver of the Nissan to fishtail, crash into a pole and flip.

The driver of the Pontiac was ticketed for not yielding the right of way.

Both people in the Nissan were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The other driver wasn't hurt.

The wreck knocked out power to over 800 homes along with the Midland Park Mall and H.E.B.
