ECTOR COUNTY - Ector County Commissioners voted to make an amendment to the current burn ban on Tuesday.
Before Tuesday, residents out in the County were only allowed to have an open fire for barbecuing or for welding for professional purposes.
Now residents can burn only their household trash outside but it must be in a barrel that's covered with an iron grate.
Judge Redford says this is not a lift of the burn ban and officials will be on the lookout for violators
"Our environmental forest officers and our sheriff's officers will be out and they'll be watching. If it looks like you're being hazardous with this, then we'll have to take some action," Redford said.
Commissioners are also asking residents to use caution and look at weather conditions if you do decide to burn your trash.
