AT&T is dealing with major service problems in Fort Stockton, Alpine and Van Horn.

Police in Fort Stockton tell NewsWest 9 all 911 calls from cell phones aren't going through.

Police are urging residents to use a land line instead.

As a temporary solution, 911 calls are being routed through Pecos and you need to know your exact location when making an emergency call.

The problems all started around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning.

AT&T is currently working to resolve the issue.
Carrie Corey, an AT&T spokeswoman says a fiber optic cable near Monahans was cut by a third party doing work.

Both wired and wireless customers in the region are being affected.

AT&T crews are on the scene and expect a full restoration of service in the next four to six hours.
