NEAR STERLING CITY - One man is behind bars after leading police on a high speed chase across several counties.
It all started Friday night just after 11:30 p.m.
Midland Police say 23-year-old Justin Watson was taken into custody after the chase ended near Sterling City.
Officers were called out to the Stripes off of East Highway 158 for a robbery and stolen vehicle in progress.
By the time officers got there, they learned Watson stole a GMC Envoy and forced a passenger out of the vehicle.
Watson took off down Highway 158 but the SUV had blowout.
A passerby stopped to help Watson and that's when Watson stole that truck with a passenger still inside.
Officers caught up with him at Highway 158 and FM 1379.
They tried pulling him over but he didn't stop.
The Sterling County Sheriff's Office was finally able to blow out his tires with stop sticks just outside of Sterling City.
Watson is behind bars at the Midland County jail and charged with two counts of robbery, evading in a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.
The passenger in the truck made it out of the pursuit without any injuries.
Bond for Watson has been set at over $250,000.
