More money and jobs are on the way in Ector County thanks to an agreement between E.C.I.S.D. and Summit Energy.
Ector County ISD agreed on a tax abatement rate for the proposed Summit Clean Energy Plant.
The plan calls for the creation of several hundred construction jobs and over 100 full time jobs when the plant is complete.
Summit will also pay the full cost of taxes during their first three years then they'll be capped at $80 million.
The taxes collected from Summit Energy will help offset costs to not only the school district, but also the College, the hospital district and the County.
