Strong Cold Front Rolls Through the Permian Basin

WEST TEXAS - A strong fall cold front made its way through the Permian Basin on Monday night.

Chief Meteorologist Tom Tefertiller reported that Midland International Airport received a peak wind gust of 51 miles per hour as the cold front moved through the area.

Lots of areas of blowing dust were reported across the region, causing visibilities to drop very quickly in many areas.

The cold front will bring high fire danger then much cooler temperatures for Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s around the area.
