EUNICE, NEW MEXICO - A volleyball coach in Eunice is under investigation.
She's accused of slapping one of her players last week, during a game in Carlsbad.
New Mexico State Police Sergeant Jason Waller says the woman was fired shortly after the incident happened.
The alleged victim is a 12-year-old.
Sergeant Waller says the coach, who has not been identified, has not been arrested but she could be charged with battery or child neglect.
The police report will be submitted to the Eddy County District Attorney's Office who will decide if those charges will be filed.
