EUNICE, N.M. - A Hobbs officer will be taking the reigns as police chief in Eunice.
Officer Jimmy Jones was announced as the new Police Chief earlier this week.
Jones, a native of Eunice, will begin his new position on Monday.
NewsWest 9 spoke with City Manager Martin Moore who says out of the nearly 40 applicants, jones was the best qualified for the job.
Moore tells NewsWest 9, there have been some issues in the past with the image of the Police Department and he feels jones will help put confidence and trust back in to the Police Department.
