Anchor, First News at Four

Audrey Castoreno joined the NewsWest 9 team in August of 2011, when she decided to make her move behind the desk to anchor NewsWest 9's First News at 4 p.m.

Before moving to West Texas, Audrey worked at KAVU- Newscenter 25 in Victoria, Texas.  There she covered news in 13 counties as a reporter/fill in anchor and grew fond of the city known as the Crossroads.

Originally from Houston, Texas, she first discovered her passion for journalism in her high school media program
Dobie News, where she held the title of News Director.

Audrey earned a bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism in December of 2009 from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. While at SHSU she was an active member of the university's television news station KSHU- TV News 7.  There she worked in every area of the newsroom and even held the title of News Director for the university's Spanish News Station.  She was also an active member of the National Broadcast Society where she held the office of President her senior year.

Audrey continued to gain experience in college through an internship at KRIV Fox 26 in Houston, Texas which she
considers to be one of her most rewarding experiences.

Although born and raised in the big city, Audrey feels very fortunate to be a part of the West Texas community and looks forward to exploring the rest of the Permian Basin.

In addition to bringing news to you, her passions include traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
