The man who caused several arson fires in Crane is now facing the consequences.
25-year-old Steven Cantrell stood up in federal court and pleaded guilty to four different hate crime charges.
Cantrell negotiated the plea agreement and opted out of a jury trial to avoid life in prison.
Cantrell was responsible for the Faith in Christ Church Fire as well as several other arson fires which were considered hate crimes.
Since Cantrell opted out of a jury trial, he is now exempt from a life sentence.
The judge however could give him 35 years or more for his charges.
The sentencing hearing will take place November 30th.
