Police Respond to Shots Fired Call in Midland, Suspect Arrested

MIDLAND - There were some scary moments for Midland residents in the 4800 block of Lockheed Drive on Friday morning.

Officers responded to a shots fired call sometime before midnight at the Barcelona Apartments.

Midland Police tells NewsWest 9, 35-year-old Adam Christopher Rey had attacked an unknown tenant at the apartment complex with an iron candle stick.

According to the victim, he heard Rey looking for someone and knocking vigorously on the wrong apartment door.

The victim came outside his apartment to check out the disturbance when Rey attacked him.

The tenant then went and retrieved his gun and fired two shots at Rey.

Rey then took off but was later arrested.

Rey is charged with burglary with intent to commit aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
