MIDLAND- If you're looking for something to do this weekend then head on over to the Midland County Fair.

Opening night took place on Thursday at the Horseshoe Arena.

This is the second year that the fair has taken place. Organizers were hard at work all day preparing the site for its first night.

Some new attractions were added this year to the fair such as the carnival, bull riding and team roping.

Along with all the other great entertainment from last year, such as a kids petting zoo, live music and lots of food.

NewsWest 9 spoke with organizers on Thursday about why they feel it was so important to bring back this annual tradition.

"It brings the community out. It brings everybody together, and you know back to your roots. It's a good old fashioned fair," Fair Organizer, Amber Bass, said.

The fair will run through the weekend. Tickets are $5.00 per person. Kids under the age of 3 get in free.
