Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Alpine

ALPINE - Scary moments for a pilot in Alpine after an engine failure sent his plane crashing to the ground.

The place took off from the Alpine-Casparis Municipal Airport around 5 p.m. Monday night.

Once in the air, we're told the plane began to violently shake.

The pilot turned around to make an emergency landing but quickly began to lose altitude.

The aircraft landed on its belly and slid 1,500 feet before coming to a stop.

The plane is a total loss.

The pilot wasn't hurt.
