BIG SPRING - There's a new scam alert in Big Spring.
The Big Spring Police Department is warning people about a mystery shopper scam.
Police say residents are contacted over the Internet.
They are sent checks for thousands of dollars after visiting local businesses to check on the service and prices.
Once you get the check, you are asked to cash it and send most of it to an out of state address.
