10 years in federal prison, that's what a Loving, New Mexico man faces.
32-year-old Brian Laxson pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He had previously been convicted of tampering with evidence.
Back in February, Sheriff's Deputies were called out to a plant near Carlsbad for a suspicious vehicle on the property.
Deputies stopped Laxson in his car and they also found a rifle on the roadway nearby.
Laxson admitted that the rifle belonged to him and he threw it from his vehicle when he saw deputies approaching.
