ECTOR COUNTY - We're getting new information on the condition of a young girl who was thrown out of the bed of a pickup last week.

Troopers tell NewsWest 9, 11-year-old Yamileth Nunez is still in serious condition at Lubbock Children's Hospital but she is doing fine.

The accident occurred on Friday morning on Interstate 20.

We're told a family in a pickup was rear ended by a car.

Yamileth was riding in the bed of the truck and was thrown out.

Her dad and brother were treated and released from the hospital.

The mom was hospitalized but there's no word on her condition.

The driver of the car wasn't hurt but was ticketed for failure to control speed.

Troopers think that driver fell asleep at the wheel.
