MIDLAND COUNTY - We now know the names of the two people that were involved in a Midland wreck that caused an explosion.
The accident happened Saturday night off South County Road 1160.
31-year-old Nicholas Saldivar and 17-year-old Estavanie Gonzalez were both transported to Midland Memorial Hospital.
DPS officials tell NewsWest 9, a truck hauling water was traveling northbound when Saldivar somehow lost control and went off the road.
Troopers say it looked like the truck had a blowout.
The truck drove through a power pole and took down power lines with it.
That caused an explosion and the truck burst into flames.
Saldivar was ejected and the teen was able to crawl out.
They were both taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with severe burn injuries.
The young woman is in stable condition.
No word yet on Saldivar's condition.
