Despite a few drops of rain, we are nowhere near out of the drought.
City officials want to remind you that watering restrictions are still in place and for good reason.
We need about 14 more inches of rain to get out of the drought completely.
The rain we saw on Thursday night didn't make a dent in the water needed to fill our lakes that supply our drinking water.
Here's a look at some of our rainfall totals from the past 24 hours:
- Odessa – 1.8 inches
- Midland - .38 inches
- Big Spring - .08 inches
- Alpine - .02 inches
- Wink - .04 inches
