ODESSA - Despite the drought and water restrictions if you live in Odessa, get ready to pay more for that H2O.
City Council members have given the green light to a 10 percent increase in water rates.
The extra cash will help pay off the cost of a pipeline being built by the water district to carry water from Ward County to Odessa.
The price tag for the city is $4 million.
For you? What you pay depends on how much you use.
"5,000 gallons, you're going to see a $4.05 increase. 10,000 gallons, there's going to be a $7.20 increase. 15,000 gallons is going to be a $10.35 increase for residential rates," Andrea Goodson with the City of Odessa, said.
The price hike is expected to get final approval at the next City Council meeting.
