BIG SPRING - The Big Spring State Park has a new lease on life.

You may remember the State Park was in danger of shutting down because the federal funds just weren't there anymore.

Now thanks to an agreement reached between Texas Parks and Wildlife, Howard County, and the City of Big Spring the state park will remain open.

According to Howard County Judge Mark Barr, the County will pitch in $10,000 a year and the city will front another $10,000.

The agreement will be evaluated after a year to see how things are going.
