MIDLAND - Getting fire crews and paramedics out to an emergency will soon be a lot faster.

The Midland City Council approved buying a new fire station warning system on Tuesday.

Under the old system, it takes about two minutes to get those crews out after getting the emergency call.

Now when a call comes in, the information is immediately relayed to the fire stations.

The city plans to have equipment in by October and installed within six months from then.
