BIG SPRING - Big Spring police ended up pursuing several individuals in a vehicle Sunday who had allegedly been firing off a roman candle out of the vehicle's window.

Police say that when officers caught up with the suspect vehicle a chase ensued down West 6th Street where the suspect vehicle crashed into a gas meter and fence. At least two individuals exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police captured one of the suspects and are looking for the others. 19-year-old Ernest Edward Saiz was charged with evading, failure to identify and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon. The man was in possession of a handgun.

No one was reported injured in the roman candle incident. Police aren't saying if reports of "shots fired" the previous day are related to the Sunday roman candle incident, but officials were called out to two different residences Saturday on reports of shots fired at homes. One call was in the 1000 block of NW 2nd and the other in the 1400 block of Oriole. Bullet fragments were recovered but no one was injured.
