Odessa Man to Serve Life Sentence After Drinking a Beer

ODESSA - An Odessa man will be serving a life sentence after drinking a beer.

75-year-old Willie John Knott, Sr. plead guilty back in 2005 to sexually assaulting a child.

At that time, he was sentenced to 10 years of probation.

But last year, he violated his probation for drinking a beer and was given a life sentence.

Knott appealed but the ruling was upheld.

He won't be eligible for parole until the year 2040.

By then, he'll be 104 years old.
