Identity of Elderly Woman Killed in Hobbs Released

HOBBS, N.M. - We now know the name of an elderly woman murdered in Hobbs.

She's been identified as 83-year-old Clara Alvarez.

Police believe a teen is responsible for the crime.

15-year-old Juan Rivas, Junior was arrested and charged with murder.

We've also learned that police are looking into whether other juveniles were involved in the murder.

Police went to check on Alvarez at her Hobbs home Monday morning and found her body.

We're told Rivas was found driving the woman's car.

Police are still waiting for the autopsy results.

Rivas is being held without bond.
