Man Arrested for Pointing Gun at Big Spring City Employee

BIG SPRING - A Big Spring man was arrested Thursday morning for waving a gun around and pointing it at a city employee.

18-year-old Julian Torres was seen by witness in the 700 block of NW 8th in Big Spring Thursday morning, walking around with a gun. The man allegedly pointed the gun toward a city sanitation driver before police arrived.

Police on the scene drew their weapons and demanded the suspect go to the ground and the man complied. The weapon was not loaded and no one was injured.

The man was arrested and booked into Howard County Jail on charges of deadly conduct, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and resisting arrest.
