BIG SPRING - Two families have won their case against the Alon Refinery in Big Spring.

This is the second lawsuit against the Alon Refinery.

It all dates back to the 2008 refinery explosion that caused property damage to several homes.

The jury awarded Manuel and Marissa Hernandez over $10,000 and Janet and David Higgins were awarded over $55,000.

Both families were compensated for damage done to their property.

The jury did not award their claims for pain and suffering because the company wasn't found guilty of gross negligence.
