BIG SPRING - A Big Spring man was arrested Tuesday evening for injuring his 13-year-old son with a knife.

According to Big Spring Police Sgt. Tony Everett, 37-year-old Henry John Raymond showed up at a residence in the 400 block of Armstrong late Tuesday afternoon and began arguing with the mother of his 13-year-old son, who was also present.

The suspect was allegedly intoxicated, say police, and became violent in the course of the argument with the woman. The suspect allegedly drew a knife and threatened the woman, when the 13-year-old boy attempted to intervene and was wounded in the neck with the suspect's knife.

The boy received superficial injuries and will be alright, according to officials. The suspect left the scene and police pursued the man down Wasson Road where he exited his vehicle and ran into some brush, where he was apprehended.

John Raymond was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. No one else was injured in the incident.
