MIDLAND - Two near mid-air collisions in the less than a year, that's why federal officials flocked to the Midland Airport on Tuesday night.
The Federal Aviation Administration met with airport officials, pilots and air traffic controllers to talk about safety.
They're trying to come up with a permanent plan after a couple of close calls.
Back in April, interim safety measures were put in place until something more permanent was decided on.
They included having planes slow down as they come in for landings and pilots contacting traffic control further out from the airport.
