Fire Burning in Southern Pecos County, 6,200 Acres Burned

PECOS COUNTY - Fire crews are trying to get a handle on a fire burning in Pecos County.

The "Stegall Fire", located about 10 miles north of Sanderson, ignited on Monday night.

The fire has already scorched 6,200 acres and is currently 65 percent contained.

No homes have been threatened so far and no word yet on what sparked the flames.

The Texas Forest Service is investigating.
